Returns, Exchanges & Replacements

At Chikankari Wholesale (chikankariwholesale.com), we want you to love what you receive. Because our pieces are hand-embroidered by artisans, minor variations are normal—and part of the charm. This policy explains when and how you can request a return, exchange, or replacement, for Retail (D2C) and Wholesale/B2B orders.


Quick Summary (TL;DR)

  • Retail (D2C, India): Return or size exchange within 7 days of delivery. Store credit or exchange preferred; refunds on eligible cases.
  • Retail (International – USA/UK/UAE/Canada): Exchange or store credit within 10 days of delivery; refunds on eligible cases (shipping & duties non-refundable).
  • Wholesale/B2B: No returns for MOQ/custom/dyed orders. Defect/damage claims within 48 hours of delivery for replacement or credit after QC.
  • Not eligible: used/washed items, custom sizing, dyed-to-order, sale/clearance, accessories (for hygiene), partial sets, and items without original tags/packaging.
  • Unboxing video + photos required for damage/shortage claims.

1) Eligibility & Timelines

Retail (D2C)

  • India: Request within 7 calendar days of delivery.
  • International (USA/UK/UAE/Canada): Request within 10 calendar days of delivery.
  • Item must be unused, unwashed, unaltered, with all tags, labels, and original packaging intact.

Wholesale/B2B

  • Defect/Damage/Shortage claims: Notify us within 48 hours of delivery with unboxing video and photos.
  • No returns for: custom sizing, dyed-to-order, made-to-spec styles, special MOQ programs, clearance lots, or items cut from rolls.

2) Non-Returnable / Non-Exchangeable Items

  • Custom & Dyed Orders (color customization, special fits, logo/branding, private label).
  • Sale/Markdown/Clearance items.
  • Accessories with hygiene concerns (e.g., inners, face masks, earrings).
  • Fabrics sold by meter, cut pieces, and trims once cut/processed.
  • Items with perfume stains, makeup marks, alterations, washes, or damage after delivery.
  • Orders without original tags/packaging or past the return window.

3) Acceptable Reasons

  • Wrong product/size/color shipped (our error).
  • Manufacturing defect (hand embroidery knots and minor thread variations are not defects).
  • Transit damage (requires unboxing video).
  • Size exchange (Retail only, subject to stock availability).

4) Handcrafted Disclaimer

All Chikankari pieces are artisan-made. Slight variations in stitch density, motif placement, thread tension, and color tone may occur—these are signs of authenticity, not defects.


5) How to Initiate a Return/Exchange

  1. Contact us within the window (see Section 1):

    • Include Order No., item name/size, clear reason, and unboxing video + photos (for damage/shortage).
  2. Approval & RMA: Our team will review and share a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and instructions.
  3. Pack securely: Keep tags on, use original packaging.
  4. Ship back / Pick-up:
    • India (Retail): We may schedule a pickup in serviceable pincodes; otherwise self-ship to our returns address.
    • International & Wholesale: Self-ship with trackable courier.
  5. QC & Resolution: After we receive and inspect, we’ll process exchange/store credit/refund as eligible (see Sections 6–8).

6) Exchanges (Size/Style)

  • Retail (India & International):
    • Size exchanges: Free once per order in India (pickup charges may apply in remote areas). International customers bear both ways shipping & duties.
    • Style exchanges: Treated as return + new order (price differences/fees apply).
  • Wholesale/B2B: Exchanges only for approved defects/shortages; replacements depend on inventory/production lead time.

7) Store Credit

  • Fastest resolution for Retail returns.
  • Issued as a coupon code/wallet credit valid for 12 months, redeemable at chikankariwholesale.com.
  • Shipping, COD fees, and duties are non-refundable.

8) Refunds

  • Retail (India): Refunds issued to original payment method within 7–10 working days after QC approval.
  • Retail (International): Refund excludes original shipping, import duties, and return freight; processed within 10–14 working days after QC.
  • Wholesale/B2B: Refunds are rare; typically replacement or credit note against next order after QC.

9) Costs, Duties & RTO

  • Return Shipping:
    • India Retail: We may deduct a return pickup fee (if applicable) from refund/credit.
    • International & Wholesale: Customer-paid return shipping; duties/taxes are non-refundable.
  • RTO (Return to Origin) / Failed Delivery: If shipment returns due to incorrect address/phone or repeated delivery attempts, reship charges apply; original shipping is non-refundable.

10) Damaged in Transit / Shortage

  • Mandatory: Unboxing video from the moment the package is opened + photos of the outer carton and product.
  • Report within 48 hours of delivery at chikankariwholesale@gmail.com / +91-88879 81595 with order number.
  • After verification, we’ll replace (subject to stock) or issue store credit/credit note.

11) Color, Fit & Care

  • Product colors may look different due to lighting and screen settings; this is not a defect.
  • Follow wash-care strictly; damage due to washing, detergents, or ironing is not eligible.
  • For precise fits, use our Size Guide on product pages or contact our stylist on WhatsApp before ordering.

12) Special Notes for Wholesale/B2B

  • MOQ programs, custom dyeing, branding, private label, and made-to-spec orders are final sale.
  • Pre-shipment AQL/QC is performed; still, report defects/shortages within 48 hours with unboxing proof.
  • Approved issues: replacement in next cycle or credit note (redeemable within 6 months).
  • Freight insurance is recommended for high-value consignments.

13) COD (Cash on Delivery) – India (Retail)

  • COD handling fees are non-refundable.
  • Repeated COD refusals may lead to prepaid-only restriction for future orders.

14) Processing Timelines

  • RMA approval: 24–48 hours (business days).
  • QC after receipt: 2–4 business days.
  • Refund to source: 7–10 business days (India) / 10–14 (International).
  • Store credit: within 24 hours after QC approval.

Q1. Can I return a custom-dyed or private-label order?
A1. No. Custom, dyed-to-order, made-to-spec, and private-label orders are final sale.

Q2. I received a damaged item. What should I do?
A2. Share your order number with an unboxing video + photos within 48 hours. We’ll replace or credit after verification.

Q3. Do you offer size exchanges?
A3. Yes, for Retail orders within the return window. International customers cover both ways shipping & duties.

Q4. Are sale/clearance items returnable?
A4. No. Sale/markdown items are final sale.

Q5. How will I get my money back?
A5. After QC approval, refunds are processed to the original payment method (timelines in Section 14). Store credit is the fastest option.

Q6. Do you refund shipping and duties?
A6. Original shipping, COD fees, return freight, and import duties/taxes are non-refundable.

Q7. What if my pincode is not serviceable for pickup?
A7. You can self-ship using a trackable courier to our Returns Address (Section 5). Keep the receipt until closure.

Q8. What counts as a defect in hand-embroidered products?
A8. Tears, large stains, wrong size/style, severe weaving faults. Minor thread variations and motif placement differences are normal.

Q9. How long is store credit valid?
A9. 12 months from the date of issue (Retail) and 6 months for Wholesale credit notes.

Q10. Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
A10. If the order hasn’t shipped, contact us immediately. Shipped orders follow the standard returns process.
